Welcome to Port Kennedy Primary School

Port Kennedy Primary School is an independent public school and opened in 1996 to serve a rapidly growing coastal suburb located within the City of Rockingham 55 kilometres south of Perth. At our school every child is given opportunities to be their best and experience personal excellence. We strive to create a culture in which every student experiences a sense of belonging to the school community. We run a Breakfast Club each morning in our Community Hub where all students are welcome. Our school has adopted a restorative approach towards behaviour. Our core values are Be Resilient, Be Responsible, Be Respectful and Be Your Best.

We pride ourselves on providing an exceptional service to our families and local community. We have a strong affiliation with the Royal Australian Navy, in particular the HMAS Stirling and offer a Defence Force Transition Aide for students with parents who are in the forces. Our 4 factions are named after submarines: Rankin, Collins, Sheean and Waller.

Our experienced staff are committed to teaching for impact, to improve the learning outcomes for all students. We provide a broad and inspiring curriculum that challenges and meets the learning needs of our students, with an emphasis on Literacy and Numeracy. We have a variety of specialty staff which enables the school to offer specialist programs that include LOTE (Language Other Than English) in the form of Indonesian, Music, Physical Education and Science.

Our school Chaplain engages with students on a needs basis and runs different programs each term focussing on building confidence and coping skills.
